Mindwrap, Inc a leading provider of cross-platform document management and workflow solutions – today announced that it will release its Optix Document Management and Workflow suite of products running with the popular Firebird RDBMS for Mac OS X. Scalable from small departments to the enterprise, the new system will provide an economical alternative to deployments using commercial RDBMS packages, and will be a Universal application, running natively on both PowerPC- and Intel-based Macs and Xserves. Mindwrap plans to demonstrate the Firebird integration at the upcoming Macworld Conference and Exposition, January 9-12, 2007, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA in booth #1743.

According to Jim Small, Mindwrap President “Firebird’s transactional integrity combined with the ability to simultaneously perform both updates and queries makes it an excellent fit with our Optix Document Management products. The fact that it is a time-proven open-source solution also means significant cost savings to our clients”.

“The popularity of Mac OS X and the diverse nature of the Mac development community is driving astonishing innovation,” said Ron Okamoto, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “We’re thrilled Mindwrap has taken advantage of the innovative architecture and blazing speed of our Intel-based Macs to deliver powerful and elegant solutions to its users.”

“Because Firebird scales easily from the department to the entire enterprise, it can serve the needs of a wide variety of organizations. We feel that the ease with which Mindwrap was able to port their Optix product to use our open-source database is a endorsement of its value to the Mac OS X community.”, stated Paul Beach, President of the Firebird Foundation.

Mindwrap’s world-class Optix solution, which is in place at top-name educational, commercial, and government organizations, is renowned for its unrivalled support for Macintosh and Windows platforms, rich functionality, ease of use, and rapid deployment.
